In September 2015 the Australian Archaeological Mission to the site of the ancient theatre of Nea Paphos from the University of Sydney, working under the auspices of the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus, conducted a geo-mapping survey of the ruins of the town’s Roman colonnades. Late 2015 saw the publication of the paper on the history of the theatre of Nea Paphos by project director Dr Craig Barker titled "From Performance to Quarry: The evidence of architectural change in the theatre precinct of Nea Paphos in Cyprus over seven centuries", in the volume Continuity and Destruction in the Greek East:The transformation of monumental space from the Hellenistic period to Late Antiquity, edited by S. Chandrasekaran & A. Kouremenos (BAR S2765, 2015, 33-48). The edited volume was borne of the 2011 international academic conference ‘Continuity and Destruction in Alexander’s East' which took place at the University of Oxford. This volume covers the latest research into Hellenistic theatres around the Mediterranean including a paper "The Hellenistic Phases of the Theatre at Nea Paphos in Cyprus: The evidence from the Australian Excavations" by J. Richard Green, Craig Barker and Geoff Stennett.
