2023 Student Application

    ​2023 Australian archaeological excavations at the Paphos Theatre Site

    Please make sure to fill out all questions prior to submitting your application. All answers will be kept confidential.
    If you have any issues with your application or any questions about the form please contact us.
    Upon acceptance of your application the project Director's will need a copy of your passport. Australians do not require visas for entry into the Republic of Cyprus. Make sure your passport has at least six months validity from your planned date of return to Australia (international students please check your own Government's travel requirements and contact the project director's if you have any questions) .

    Emergency contact

    Please include your emergency contact of next of Kin. All phone numbers and addresses should include  international codes in case of an emergency.

    Please list any allergies, medical conditions or current medications you are taking. This will not effect your application to join the team, however it is an essential health and safety requirement of the  project. 



    ​Previous digging experience is not necessary for students applying to join our field season. However, please list any experience you have had including on which site and your role.


    ​Please list a few reasons why your interested in joining the Australian Archaeological Excavations at the Paphos Theatre Site.

    Further information

    The 2023 field season is scheduled for 5 weeks, approximately 1 April to 7 May 2023.
    We expect students to be available for the entire field season. If for some reason you will not be available for the full season please let us know using the comment box on the right and this will be taken into account during the application process.

    2023 student contribution: c. $2500 AUD
    While the project makes every effort to keep costs down for students, we expect students to make their own way to Cyprus in addition to the contribution of $2500. This contribution covers the cost of accommodation, all meals on work days, and archaeological training. The excavation will provide tuition in archaeological excavation and finds processing, and tours of local archaeological sites. If your application is accepted the Directors will provide further information on the project, travelling in Cyprus and assistance in co-ordinating your arrival and departure with the rest of the team.
